MT. PINATUBO
A great man from Zambales Philippines
Once hid and fought the guerillas in this mountain.
In (March 17) 1957, „Mt. Pinatubo“ Presidential plane
Crashed and ended the life of Ramon Magsaysay Sr.
Beloved President of the Philippines
Indeed, A great man from Iba, Zambales
Met his tragic end
In the lonely mountainside
Together with his friends.
How his life ended was written
For one survived to defend
He wrote a book and told the story of his dreadful end.
Which no one will know if not for a dear friend.
In 1991, „Mt Pinatubo“ the volcano then
It indeed ended hundreds of lives and living
Of people in our dear province
Turning a state of deep misery in every being.
The skies turned dark heavens turned mad;
Fierce spewed greatly
Seemed God was asleep unmindful of
Hovering death and volcanic fury.
Today, Mt. Pinatubo stood
In his impressive, gigantic crater sea
Teasing every soul to find solace
Making you forget it was then very deadly.

MT. TAPULAO
My feet brought me to the highest peak of Mt. Tapulao
Climbing this mountain one step at a time
Notwithstanding the scorching heat sometimes
The cutting edge of rocky roads
Careful that my steps won’t slide
Lest my foot cast aside
I won’t live when I stride…
Treading up the slippery trek
A breathtaking view when you reach its peak
Towering over other heights, valleys, and hillside.
I couldn’t help but exclaim!
I am not ashamed
God of valleys and God of mountains
HOW MAJESTIC IS YOUR NAME!
Mount Tapulao is the highest peak in Region III. It is located in Palauig, Zambales, Philippines. The author expressed her feelings and experienced in climbing it twice in April 2008 and sometime June of the same year
